This year we are pleased to bring together the Germanic Linguistics Annual Conference (GLAC 32) and the Studies in the History of the English Language (SHEL 14)conference once again. Hosted by Brigham Young University, the combined conferences will be held at the Provo City Library at Academy Square. Just a short walk from the Downtown Provo Marriott (our conference hotel), the library once housed the original Brigham Young Academy and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.

About SHEL |
The Germanic Linguistics Annual Conference (or GLAC) is the annual conference of the Society for Germanic Linguistics (SGL), an organization serving the broad community of scholars teaching and researching in Germanic linguistics and philology. Papers submitted to GLAC may be on any linguistic or philological aspect of any historical or modern Germanic language or dialect, including English (to the Early Modern period) and the extraterritorial varieties.
SHEL (Studies in the History of the English Language) has been meeting biennially for two decades; it is the preeminent gathering in North America that examines the English language and its history. The co-sponsorship of this year's conference means that scholars who work on the full range of Germanic languages across their full time periods, including English beyond the Early Modern period will gather together to share their research.
Papers from the full range of linguistic and philological subfields, as well as differing theoretical perspectives, are welcome. Abstracts submitted to GLAC/SHEL will undergo anonymous review. While authors are asked to indicate which conference they plan to submit their papers to, attendees will be free to attend papers in sessions relating to both conferences.
